Notes
The core of this 3D artwork is the externalization of an internal moral struggle. It explores the psychological and physiological journey of "making a confession." Rather than viewing a confession as a simple verbal act, this piece treats it as a physical migration of thought and emotion (moving from the heavy weight of internal processing to the external release of truth.)
Technical Development: From Synapse to Mesh
To bridge the gap between biological reality and digital art, the project utilized Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology and generative design:
Data Acquisition: Brain activity sensors (EEG) were used to record real-time neural data during an actual, personal confession.
Generative Geometry: This raw data was imported into TouchDesigner, where it acted as a displacement map and coordinate system.
The "Rocks": The jagged, organic structures flanking the central figure are not pre-made 3D assets. Instead, they are unique 3D meshes generated directly from the electrical activity of each brain hemisphere. These forms represent the literal "texture" of the artist's mind during the moment of admission.
Symbology: The Path of Absolution
The movement of the central humanoid figure is a symbolic mapping of the brain's functional anatomy:
The Origin (The Center): The figure begins in the center of the workspace, symbolizing the limbic system and midbrain regions. This represents the birth of guilt, where deep-seated emotions and moral conflict reside.
The Transition: The figure moves through the space between the two "hemisphere meshes," illustrating the struggle to process and resolve this internal weight.
The Destination (The Front): The figure culminates its journey at the front of the brain. This represents the frontal lobe, the seat of executive function and voluntary action.
The Final Act: This movement mirrors the transition from feeling a passive emotion (guilt) to taking an active, conscious step (the confession), moving from the "shadows" of the subconscious to the "light" of intentional speech. The final composition was arranged and rendered in Cinema 4d using Redshift render engine
