Notes
LOTTERY is a personal short film where I dive into the Mediterranean world, imagining what it would be like if my wife could afford a luxury mansion in this natural paradise, the kind of place we, archviz artists, are used to creating for others, but will probably never have the money to afford ourselves.
This project became much more than a CGI exercise. It was a way to explore not only architectural visualization but also film direction, storytelling, sound design, video editing and scene composition. I worked on architectural and terrain modeling using Gaea, vegetation generation with GrowFX and Forest Pack, real-life footage with my Canon M200 (featuring my wife in the boat scene), cinematic camera movements and mood creation to make the audience feel the wind and the Mediterranean vibe.
The static shots were created entirely in the traditional way using 3ds Max, Corona Renderer and Photoshop, without AI. Later, I used Kling AI to animate some of the shots and bring the scenes to life.
As a still image artist, it was a great exercise to change the way I approach a project, not only focusing on a single frame but also on narrative, sequence, montage, rhythm and music.
I’m happy to share this project with you. I hope you enjoy it!
